The Noosa Dirty Fondo is a gruelling off-road event through the Hinterland

The Noosa Dirty Fondo are two gravel events that have been added to the Noosa Strade Bianche, a 2 day cycling event for steel framed bikes with a weekend festival to celebrate vintage cycling. Noosa is about 150km north of Brisbane, 1hr 40min from the airport, and at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast.  Noosa is a popular tourist destination with lots to see and do. This event is not for beginners, you will not to have a reasonable amount of fitness and experience riding on gravel.

Taking place over the same 87km course as the Medio Fondo on Sunday, the Dirty Medio Fondo is a new addition to the Noosa Strade Bianche. Departing from the Noosa Marina, this event runs in conjunction with the longer rides, and all share the same route as far as just before Cooran but still plenty of strade bianche for the discerning gravel rider. The Dirty Medio Fondo removes the Kin Kin sector, making for a slightly easier 85km ride. Participating riders will enjoy quiet, picturesque country roads which run through the Noosa hinterland. For 2021 we are returning to Noosa Marina via Lake MacDonald and Ringtail Road, to bypass a traffic ‘black spot’ in Cooroy.

Taking place over the same gruelling 147.5km course as the Gran Fondo on Sunday, the Noosa Dirty Fondo is a new addition to the Noosa Strade Bianche. Departing from the Noosa Marina, the course extends further north than the Medio and enjoys stunning hinterland scenery & the picturesque towns of Cooran, Traveston, Kin Kin & Pomona. This Gravel Fondo includes several additional sectors of ‘strade bianche’; the ‘white’ or gravel roads with the punishing Shadbolt Road climb and exhilarating descents off the ‘Gap’ and ‘Gentle Annie’. For 2021 we are returning to Noosa Marina via Lake MacDonald and Ringtail Road, to bypass a traffic ‘black spot’ in Cooroy.
