Cycle Down Under is an Australian event listing calendar for live (in-person) cycling events, rides or tours.

We have paid advertising opportunities for cycling related events and relevant products/services for recreational cyclists.

1. Website Ads

There is a limited number of Leaderboard 728×90 and Mobile Leaderboard 320×50 display ads available. Your ad will be visible on all pages including individual rides and blogposts. Currently, each ad receives around 3,250 impressions per week. An impression is only logged when the ad has become visible on the visitor’s screen. Advertisers receive a weekly report with details of impressions and clicks received.

Ads can be booked in weekly blocks and must be booked for a minimum of two consecutive weeks. Weekly blocks start and finish on a Monday morning.

You will need to provide your own ad that needs to meet the below specifications.

Display ad specifications:

  • Dimensions & format: 728 pixels wide x 90 pixels high + 320 pixels wide x 50 pixels high (JPG or GIF)
  • File size limit: 100kb
  • Animations: Accepted in GIF format as long as file is within the file size limit
  • URL/Web link: Including UTM parameters if you want to track your campaign
  • Deadline: 2 working days before the start of your campaign

2. Newsletter Promotion

There is space for one promotional email to our Newsletter list each week. This email will be dedicated to your promotion only, and have no references or links to other cycling events. Currently we have over 2,800 email subscribers with an open rate of 40% + (this is above the industry standard). Advertisers receive a report after 7 days with a screenshot of the number of emails delivered, open rate and click through rate.

Your promotion takes the form of a short headline, images, description and a link to your website/product.

Newsletter promotion specifications:

  • Images: 760 pixels wide x 450 pixels high (JPG)
  • Short headline: 10 word maximum – written in 3rd person (not using ‘us, we, I, our’ etc.)
  • Description: 100-200 words maximum – written in 3rd person (not using ‘us, we, I, our’ etc.)
  • URL/Web link: Including UTM parameters if you want to track your campaign.
  • Deadline: 3pm on the Monday prior to booked newsletter.

3. Sponsored Posts

If you would like us to review a product or would like to sponsor a blogpost to increase your visibility, or have an affiliate program, please reach out as we are always looking for new products and services that can help our readers. All links will be tagged as sponsored and no-follow.

We disclose to our readers if there is a paid partnership and will not violate terms stipulated by the Australian Consumer Law and Google.

All stats shown are based on Google Analytics data from 1 June 2022 to 31 May 2023. Our traffic may fluctuate due to factors outside of our control including, but not limited to; the COVID-19 pandemic; public and school holidays and seasonal variations in cycling. We cannot guarantee clicks.
