Outbike’s Gulf to Gulf Northbound is a fantastic opportunity to ride across Australia.

Arcadia Travel provides a fantastic opportunity for cyclists to travel through the heart of Outback Australia with Outbike’s Gulf to Gulf Northbound.

Starting at Port Augusta, you’ll explore the spectacular Flinders Ranges to reach the desert railhead of Marree. In the second week, you’ll cycle along the legendary Birdsville Track. Week three you’ll be rolling across Queensland’s iconic Channel Country to Mt Isa. In the last week you’ll ride through the Carpentaria’s Gulf Country via Cloncurry to Normanton and finish at Karumba.

Approximate distances are: Port Augusta <40> Quorn <65> Hawker <55> Wilpena <80> Angorichina <85> Copley <115> Marree x 2 nts <55> Clayton Station <85> Cooper Creek <65> Mungerannie Pub x 2 nts <315 in 4 days> Birdsville x 2 nts <190 in 2 days> Bedourie <195 in 2 days> Boulia <300 in 3 days> Mt Isa x 2 nts <120> Cloncurry <185 in 2 days> Four Ways <200 in 2 days> Normanton <70> Karumba Point.

Half rides of 15 days are possible; Port Augusta to Birdsville and Birdsville to Karumba.

There is also a Gulf to Gulf Southbound route the following month.

Outbike’s Gulf to Gulf is a small ride with a maximum of 22 riders.

This ride is fully supported and catered with several vehicles (buses, 4wds) and 5-6 crew and volunteers. You’ll be camping every night and gear is provided.

You’ll be able to ride and see a lot of Australia in one month!
