The Noosa Rise & Grind is a grueling off-road event through the Hinterland

The Noosa Rise & Grind is a mixed terrain ‘gravel fondo’ through the Noosa Hinterland & hosted by the historic Apollonian Hotel at Boreen Point on the shores of beautiful Lake Cootharaba.

Noosa is about 150km north of Brisbane, 1hr 40min from the airport, and at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast.  Noosa is a popular tourist destination with lots to see and do. You can learn more about the Noosa Strade Bianche event here.

It’s a 117km ride over mixed terrain, with a maximum gain of around 1,500m, that starts and finishes at Apollonian Hotel, Boreen Point. The first is within the first 5 km’s of the start which should be sufficient to become wared up. The second is the last rise of elevation before the descent down to the finish line.

There will be an 85km version of the ride for those wanting to take a shorter adventure. This will be the same coarse that the Strade Bianche, which celebrates steel framed bicycles.

It is expected a reasonable level of fitness and some experience of riding on gravel.
