There’s a lot of cycling events in Queensland thanks to the year-round good weather.

A large number of rides are based around Brisbane, the Sunshine and Gold Coast, with single-day and weekend festivals. A lot of multi-day rides either start in finish from Brisbane, with some including other states. Mt Coot-tha is the local hill climb for Brisbane cyclists.

In tropical north Queensland, rides are based around Townsville, Cairns and travel as far north as Cooktown. A lot are held over winter when it isn’t the rainy season.

A small number of rides are held in regional centres, like Mt Isa, Mackay, and Winton. These country rides often with weekend festivals and provide the perfect opportunity to get away for the weekend and to support regional communities. It’s a great excuse for a long weekend!

You’re sure to find a ride that matches your level of experience and fitness as well as a ride that will challenge you!
