Best Cycling Events in the ACT

There’s some fantastic cycling events in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), especially if you don’t mind a good climb.

The Australian Capital Territory (or the ACT), is the capital state of Australia and the home of Canberra. It’s only a small state with an even smaller population, which means there aren’t a lot of cycling events on offer. You will find though, that some of the longer rides will pass through the ACT and Canberra.

The single-day rides tend to be based out of Canberra, and will either head out to the State National Parks whereas others will tour throughout the suburbs. Multi-day rides either start or finish in Canberra, with many passing through to other states. There are also some good climbs with a well-known climb up Mt Stromlo, just outside Canberra. The ACT is also where one of Australia’s toughest hill climbing events, Fitz’s Challenge, occurs (based at the Brindabella Ranges in the ACT).

You’re sure to find a ride in the Australian Capital Territory that matches your level of experience and fitness as well as a ride that will challenge you!
