Tour of the Tropics is a 3 day cycling, food and wine festival in Far North QLD.
Tour of the Tropics is weekend of cycling, food and wine that is held in tropical Far North Queensland.
The event is about immersing yourself in the tropics and experiencing the wonderful fresh produce grown in Far North Queensland through the many food and beverage pop up food stall offerings available at the event, while also witnessing the cascading World Heritage Rainforest, lush green fields where the produce is grown and the native flora and fauna present at each race destination throughout the three day event between Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands.
This cycling event is the re-branded Tour of the Tablelands cycling event which has been in operation since 1997.
You’ll find 3 days of cycling, starting with a kermesse race in Herberton Village, a historic town on the Atherton Tablelands, a 90 minute drive from Cairns. This is a great opportunity for the family to relax and enjoy the sumptuous local food on offer at pop up local food stalls while you’re racing!
The next 2 days are based at Lake Eacham and Yungaburra. These courses will take you through the Crater Lakes National Park at Lake Eacham. The next day, you’ll experience the beauty of Yungaburra, Curtain Fig National Park and the Historical Peeramon Hotel, then back through Yungaburra and into the town centre.
This sounds like a fantastic weekend away, with plenty of activities on offer to keep the whole family entertained!
You’ll find other cycling events, like Tour of the Tropics, in our online Cycling Event Calendar.
