The Murray to Mountain Cycle Challenge is a great 4 day ride through Victoria
This 4 day ride is the perfect way to discover the diverse and ever-changing landscape of North East Victoria from natural bushland to verdant farmland, delightfully unexpected hidden valleys and some of Australia’s most spectacular mountain ranges.
This ride caters for riders of all levels, from the less experienced to the experienced rider. There will be a social, medium and fast group, with each having a support van. Plus each group will have different distances to cater to their unique needs.
Fundraising required? Each rider must raise at least $1,250, making the fundraising target for each person $2,500. If you do not reach $1,250, we ask that riders pay the difference to reach the minimum required.
Day 1: 90-120km. The first day is a great warm-up with only a few moderate hills to contend with. You will be seeing some stunning scenery, lakes, a gorge, the beautiful towns of Beechworth and Yackandandah.
Day 2: 70- 100km. The second day is an amazing day with stunning views. A short climb and then a stunning downhill past vineyards and rivers into the fantastic mountain town of Bright. For the faster riders, there is the fantastic Mount Buffalo to challenge your cycling ability.
Day 3: Rest day. The third day gives you time to relax and unwind. Its a free day off for everyone. Bright is full of so much to see, do and explore. We have recommended activities like cycling up to the top of Mount Buffalo.
Day 4: 60-90 km 976m. The last day is a fun short and sweet ride with a final kicker at the end. For those booked onto the train, you’ll then be catching the train to Melbourne in time for the celebration dinner. For those not booked in, you’ll be making your own return arrangements.
