Event Details

The Gibb Challenge is an off-road outback adventure that also looks like a lot of fun

The Gibb Challenge is a socially competitive team relay event raising community awareness and money for charity.

This looks like a fantastic event, where you’ll be doing some serious riding, challenge the other teams but also have a few laughs along the way!

Over 5 days, you’ll ride 660km along the Gibb River Road, over gravel and dirt and through the occasional river too!

The ride starts at Derby, which is  located in the Kimberly region in far north Western Australia (about 2400km north of Perth).  This rugged and remote part of Australia is well worth a visit.  You’ll finish at the world acclaimed million acres El Questro Wilderness Park.

If you’re looking for an endurance challenge, and an excuse to take a week off from work, then this is a great opportunity to rustle up a team of mates and to start training!

In 2020, this event has selected the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) as their principal beneficiary.

You’ll find other great cycling events, like the Gibb Challenge, in our online Cycling Event Calendar.

Enjoy!

The 2025 event is expected to be on the anniversary of the 2024 event on the 10th-17th of May 2024. Details are yet to be confirmed.
