Pedal4Paramedics Challenge is a great excuse for a long ride that also helps the local community.
Pedal4Paramedics Challenge is changing in 2022 as it is the 10 year Reunion. Instead of a week long ride through the Darling Downs in Queensland, you’ll be riding from Brisbane to Townsville whilst visiting numerous small towns along the way.
This is also a charity ride, raising funds for the Queensland Ambulance Service Legacy Scheme.
The interim route is:
- Brisbane to Caboolture 45km
- Caboolture to Cooroy 88km
- Coory to Maryborough 142km
- Maryborough to Agnes Waters 216km
- Agnes Waters to Rockhampton 200km
- Rockhampton to Marlborough 106km
- Marlborough to Carmila 130km
- Carmila to Mackay 98km
- Mackay to Calen 58km (maybe some lawn bowls)
- Calen to Proserpine 70km
- Proserpine to Bowen 68km
- Bowen to Ayr 117km
- Ayr to Townsville 89km
You’ll be riding for 13 days. Each night you will overnight at emergency services centre or town hall. Each day you’ll also be popping into local schools to conduct first aid training and CPR courses. This ride is open to everyone (ie you don’t need to be an ambo), however, numbers are limited.
What an event!
