Pedal the Peel Cycling Challenge

The Pedal the Peel Cycling Challenge is a charity ride for everyone through Tamworth and the beautiful Peel Valley.

The Pedal the Peel Cycling Challenge is a 1 day cycling event with rides to suit all riding styles and fitness abilities. This ride is situated at Tamworth, Northern NSW, on the eastern side of the great dividing range. It is a fantastic opportunity to venture into the hills east of Tamworth.

You’ll find 4 rides with distances of 15km, 25km, 45km, and 100km.

The

15km, 65m, Easy, out and back.

The escorted course is a nice 15km in length.  It travels a relatively flat course to the north east. This ride is escorted by a lead car, supported by a follow car and is chaperoned by some experienced riders. It is ideal for kids and families (all riders must be over 12), or riders looking for an introduction to road cycling at a comfortable pace.

25km, 110m, Easy, out and back.

The short course is just under 25km in length. It is suitable for new riders who are looking for a social and non competitive ride for a non-competitive ride at their own pace, without the constraints of the lead and follow cars present on the escorted course.

45m, 460+m, moderate, loop.

The medium course is 45km in length. This ride is suitable for the fitter and more experienced occasional rider or beginner Saturday rider who wants a few challenges over a distance that will get the legs and heart pumping, but isn’t too long.

100km, 950m, good test, challenge for some.

The long course is just over 100km in length. This ride is suitable for club and social riders who are looking for a social (but still competitive) ride that takes in some great scenery through quiet country roads. Designed for maximum distance and minimal road traffic, this is the ideal course for keen local riders and those regular club riders who are travelling to Tamworth for the event.

The Pedal the Peel Cycling Challenge raises funds that go to local Tamworth charities. The goal for the 2019 ride is to raise $30 000.

This is a real adventure on roads less travelled, through what is much more than a country music festival town.
