This event targets more experienced riders, but starts with a family day, with guided rides as well music, local wineries, breweries and food. It’s the perfect way to spend the day in the King Valley with your family. Sign up to ride one of the shorter routes with a guide, then kick back and enjoy a glass of King Valley Prosecco with friends while listening to a local band and checking out the vendors and market stalls.
Day 2 is when the serious riding starts. Sunday’s King GRAValley ride event will take riders on a challenging ride more than 72 km around Rose River Road, with the views of vineyards giving way to the beauty of Lake Buffalo. After there will be a chance to have a locally made ice cream or wine on site, to relax and enjoy before heading home.
This event is based in the town of Whitfield, 50km south of Wangaratta, western slopes of Mt Buffalo and 100km from Bright, 275-300 km from Melbourne CBD.
Weather? You can expect the mornings to be cool near freezing (zero) and increasing to high teens or low twenties. Don’t expect rain but it is Victoria!
This looks like a great weekend away for MTB and gravel enthusiasts, with plenty to keep the family busy whilst you’re riding!
