The Heroic Gravel is WA’s newest gravel event and will be a cracker of a ride

The Heroic Gravel is a gravel grinding event that is a part of the Beverley Heroic, a cycling race and event weekend at Beverley, 120km east of Perth.

Winding through the backroads of Wheatbelt country, the Heroic Gravel is a 100 miler (at 168km according to Strava) of mixed terrain challenge with intermittent gravel, sealed roads, checkpoints, a breakfast pit-stop in York and plenty of time to soak up the surrounds.

Go hard or take it easy and soak up the scenery. You’ll find 8 sealed and 7 gravel sectors. This event will run alongside the Heroic Classic.

There are also two shorter routes of 55 miles on both bitumen and gravel options. They are backloaded with climbing, so save your strength for over 1000m of elevation gain.

What bike do you ride? This event is perfectly suited to road and gravel/cyclocross bikes. 25mm tyres will get you across the line but I’m sure your behind would appreciate 35mm+ tyres! There’s a stretch of gravel in sector 5 which will require some caution.
