Ride through the Goulburn Valley with the Fruitloop Ride

Website appears to have expired so contact Geoff Holland on 0427 800 598 for more information. No places are recorded, times kept or trophies awarded. The 50km & 115 km rides are basically over flat terrain while the 180 km event includes a 14 km climb through the Strathbogie Ranges.

The Fruitloop Ride is an annual charity ride that is based around Shepparton, a city located on the floodplain of the Goulburn Vally, about 2 hours north-northeast of Melbourne.

This cycling event is organised by the Rotary Club of Shepparton Central and raises funds for Goulburn Valley Hospice Care Service Inc.

The Fruitloop Ride has 3 rides on offer:

  • 115km circuit on predominantly flat terrain, including a loop of the Dookie race circuit (The Dookie Loop is optional, reducing the ride by a little over 15 kms).
  • 50km gentle circuit on predominantly flat terrain.
  • 6km Kids’ Ride to KidsTown.

The day is a challenge and not a race. The terrain is basically flat, and the event organisers state that you will need to train for this ride, especially the 115km event. You should have ridden at least half of each distance previously. A minimum speed of 25 km per hour is expected.

Complimentary hamburgers and sausage sizzle, fruit, soup, rolls, salads and tea and coffee provided for riders at the finish line and food and drinks provided at stops throughout the ride.

You’ll find other great cycling events, like the Fruitloop Ride, in our online Cycling Event Calendar.
