The Far North QLD Smiddy Challenge is an epic ride from Cairns to the Atherton Tablelands

The Far North Queensland Smiddy Challenge is being marketed as the unique Smiddy experience with extra luxury!

It’s a 3 day (410km) or 5 day (680km)  cycling adventure where you’ll get to enjoy the best of tropical Far North Queensland. From the beaches to the rainforests, this is the perfect  opportunity to join other like-minded teams and individuals searching for more than just a bike ride.

This ride will require you to have some level of fitness as there are some long days in the saddle, so there is a dedicated training program that has been developed by the organisers, Smiling for Smiddy.

You’ll be raising money for Mater Research, funding research projects that will make a difference to the lives of those suffering from melanoma, prostate, ovarian and breast cancer. Support will be given to help you to meet your fundraising requirement. 

Ther ride starts and finishes in Cairns. All accommodation, meals, laundry, luggage transfer, cycling kit and a full on-road support crew including physio/massage&  mechanic is included in your Registration Fee. Plus exclusive access to training rides and support.

You are expected to fundraise a minimum of $3500 (3 day ride) or $5000 (5 day ride).

Day 1: Cairns to Cape Tribulation. 144.7km +1,265 m / -1,243 m

Day 2: Cape Tribulation to Port Douglas. 113.4 km +920 m / -942 m

Day 3: Port Douglas to Tinaroo. 134.8 km +1,513 m / -736 m

Day 4: Tinaroo loop via Ravenshoe. 159.2 km +2,107 m / -2,107 m

Day 5: Tinaroo to Cairns. 114.1 km +1,071 m / -1,849 m

All in all, this looks like a great event
