The Clare Classic is a brilliant weekend away in a beautiful wine region

The Clare Classic provides a Gran Fondo style event through the spectacular wine region of the Clare Valley in South Australia. The Clare Valley is a popular area to visit and is located about 130km north of Adelaide.

This ride was first held in 2018, and will it return in 2023? Keeping my fingers crossed as the area is made for riding and exploring.

The Classic is structured around 3 courses when last offered but the advent of gravel may see another route included. Here’s hoping.

There are 3 courses on offer:

• 160km Maxi Classic
• 110km Challenge Classic
• 50km Social Classic

This is a great opportunity for a weekend getaway and a chance to explore the Clare Valley’s food and wineries. The event village will have live music and locally sourced food, wine and beer.

There is a charity aspect to this ride, with cyclists choosing a charity of their choice.
