The Challenge Tour is the opportunity for recreational cyclists to ride a day of the Santos Tour Down Under, which is held in Adelaide each year. The Santos Tour Down Under is the first event of the UCI WorldTour and starts the international pro cycling calendar in the heart of Australia’s summer.
This event is held on Day 5 of the race, in the morning which means you will be finished in time to watch the professionals race.
There are multiples distances, which start in the café district of Norwood with everyone finishing at Campbelltown.
- Norwood to Campbelltown Full coarse 123km
- Norwood to Campbelltown short coarse 83km
From the start travel East, it is not long before the stage starts to climbs the iconic Norton Summit climb. Continue heading East through to the Basket Range climb before heading North through to Williamstown before looping back. The legs will continue to be tested with the Checker Hill climb and a rest before the Corkscrew descent down into the Adelaide suburbia.
You’ll find other cycling events, like the Challenge Tour, in our online Cycling Event Calendar.
