Event Details

Ride for Country Kids is a 3 day adventure through outback NSW from Dubbo to Cobar

Ride for Country Kids is a 3 day charity ride that is held in a different location each year. The 2020 ride starts in Dubbo and finishes in Cobar. Past rides have included Albury to Lake Cargelligo, Dubbo to Wagga, Moree to Tamworth, Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour, Wagga to Orange and Lightening Ridge to Burke.

This ride is unique in that each year the organiser, Royal Far West, chooses a different route that allows them to travel through some of the remote country towns and areas that have been supported by Royal Far West. Royal Far West helps country kids who are disadvantaged through distance and by the lack of services in rural and remote areas of Australia.

The Ride for Country Kids starts at Cooma, which is at the base of the Snowy Mountains, and finishes at Lake Hume Village, in the Victorian High Country.

Day 1: Cooma to Thredbo (121km / 2229vm)
Day 2: Thredbo to Tumbarumba (152km / 3225vm)
Day 3: Tumbarumba to Lake Hume Village (136km / 1344vm)

Places for this ride are limited to a total of 75 riders. It is fully supported with support staff, a mechanic and SAG wagon.

A return bus service is available, travelling from the Royal Far West Centre in Manly to Albury, and then from Lake Cargelligo to Manly.
