Event Details

The Chappy Challenge is a great day riding through the Fassifern Valley to raise much-needed money for School Chaplains

The Chappy Challenge is a fundraising ride (and run) organised by the local community to raise much-needed funds for their school Chaplains. This is a real community day with events catering for riders of all abilities.

This event is held at Boonah, which is about 110 km from the Brisbane Airport and about 95 km from Brisbane CBD, in a Southwest direction.

You’ll find 3 rides covering a distance of 35km, 60 km and 95km.

All rides take the same route going south from Boonah, with the 65km and 95km riders continuing on Dwyer Ridges Road, on past Mount Alford. This is the turning point for the shortest ride.

The longer riders continue on to do a loop of which the 95km riders complete two loops and then return back to Boonah.

The countryside around Boonah is generally undulating, with climbs up to the scenic rims of the remnant volcano pipes, that make up the Hinterland behind the Gold Coast.

The weather in Boonah at the time of this ride is late summer, so expect 20-30 degrees celsius on the day.

You’ll find other great rides, like  Chappy Challenge, in our online Cycling Event Calendar.

Enjoy!
