A real gem on the edge of Melbourne through the undulations of the Strezlecki Ranges

The Slog is a charity ride through the Strezlecki Ranges, that starts and finishes on the outskirts of Melbourne. This one day event starts at Pakenham,  which is on the eastern side of Melbourne, about an hour away from the CBD and 1hr 20 min from the airport. The Slog ventures into the undulating surrounds of the Strzelecki Ranges, keeping to quiet and scenic roads.

There are 4 routes on offer, each catering for different skill sets and with  distances of 30km, 80km, 100km and 160km.

The 160 km ride has 3 main climbs, from the Town of Lang Lang to before Warragul South. This includes the first leg tester, a Cat 4 of 8 km in length with a rise of just over 130 meters. Then a 4 km Cat 5 climb of 2% climbing 100 m, with the final Cat 5 climb of 2% climb of 100m. When you see Warragul South, you’ll know that the hard work has been done. Enjoy the undulations and some roller coasters back to Pakenham.

Find the roads less travelled, the ones used by locals only. And be back in Melbourne in the afternoon.

The Slog is raising money for the 4C’s Crisis Relief Centre. They provide services to support the local community and individuals in crisis.
