The Ride for Sick Kids is a 3 day charity ride along the Great Ocean Road!
The South West coastline of Victoria plays host to a three day charity ride event based in the town of Lorne, on the Great Ocean Road. Lorne is around 2 hr drive from Melbourne via the M1 down to Geelong. Lorne is a popular tourist attraction along the Great Ocean Road.
This is a charity ride that raises funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania. Over the years, riders have ridden over 140,000km to raise much needed funds to help provide over 12,500 nights accommodation for families with seriously ill children.
Each year over 40 riders take on the physical challenge of cycling on the Great Ocean Road and raising over $150,000 to help keep families close to their seriously ill child.
MInimum amount to fundraise is $2000.
The ride is a combination of three out and back rides, leaving from Lorne each day.
Day 1: Lorne – Apollo Bay Return – 87.7km
Day 2: Lorne – Colac Return – 106km
Day 3: Lorne – Erskine Falls Return – 20.2km
