Pain Revolution’s Rural Outreach Tour is a 700km cycle between Geelong and east into the Gippsland and Snowy Mountains to help people living with chronic pain.
Pain Revolution’s Rural Outreach Tour is a 700km ride through some of the most beautiful scenery that Victoria has to offer. The ride is held between Geelong, Frankston, sale and north to Bright and Wangaratta, and helps to support programs that help people living with chronic pain.
Over the course of 7 days, the riders will cover in excess of 700 km with about 10,000 metres of elevation gain.
The ride starts in Geelong which is South of Victoria. It is easily accessible by train, with many things to see and do. Geelong is about 100 km from Melbourne.
Now onto the ride. Pain Revolution’s Rural Outreach Tour attracts riders with a mix of abilities and experiences. Those who wish to do this ride should have a high level of fitness and be confident and confident in their riding skills.

Day 0. Geelong Welcome Dinner and Orientation
Day 1. Geelong to Frankston
Day 2. Frankston to Wonthaggi
Day 3. Wonthaggi to Traralgon
Day 4. Traralgon to Sale
Day 5. Sale to Bairnsdale
Day 6. Bairnsdale to Omeo
Day 7. Omeo to Bright
Day 8. Bright to Wangaratta
This is a small tour with about 25 riders. To participate, you will need to apply and convince the panel of judges that you are a suitable candidate. Regostregistration around September, about 6 months before the ride starts, and closing when the limited numbers are filled. There is a huge emphasis on outreach education during the week, which means representing the team at various events throughout the week.
The weather in Victoria can be variable with conditions changing quite quickly. You can expect cool (and maybe wet) conditions in the mountains. So bring lots of layers and your arm/ leg warmers, long gloves and your wet weather gear just in case.
