The MS Melbourne Cycle is a recreational ride around Melbourne to help people living with multiple sclerosis

This ride has been rebranded as the MS Melbourne Run and Ride Festival. 

The MS Melbourne Cycle is, as the name says, a ride in Melbourne, Victoria. Whether you’re a beginner, a regular rider or a lycra lover, you’ll find a ride that is just right for you. Plus you’ll be raising money for MS, a worthwhile cause.

This is a recreational ride through the streets of Melbourne and over the iconic Western Gate Bridge. Without being disturbed by traffic.

You’ll find three different rides on offer with a 30km ride, a 50km ride, a Family ride. All rides start at the Flemington Racecourse, which is 5 km from the Melbourne CBD or 15 km from the airport.

After starting at The Wetlands in Flemington Racecourse, you’ll ride along the banks of the Maribyrnong River, then past Etihad Stadium, and over the Port Melbourne Foreshore. You’ll then begin the ascent up the Westgate Bridge which has amazing views of Melbourne. This bridge is usually filled with cars and trucks so it is a great chance to cycle over it safely and without all the noise and pollution. After climbing off the bridge, you’ll then ride into Williamstown before returning to the start.

The 50km ride will follow the same route as for the 30km riders,  turning off after crossing the Bridge to cycle another 20km through Williamstown before returning to the start.

The Family ride offers a 3 or 6km course through Flemington Park.

The weather at this time of year is early Autumn, which means a nice warm day with temperatures between 10 to 25 degrees, with a low chance of showers or rain.  As the locals in Melbourne joke, you can always have four seasons in one day, so be prepared!
