The Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride is one of Australia’s most spectacular rides

Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride is a well-known Australian ride because it rides along the famous Great Ocean Road and surrounding townships. 

The ride starts in Torquay which is along the southern Victorian coastline, south of Geelong the region is best known for the surfing. you can travel by car down the M1 and then on to the M80 that travels through to Geelong and then take the continue through to the about 60 more kilometres through to Torquay the total distance of 160 km From Melbourne.  you can catch the train and I suggest that you check the service timetable details travel planning.

There are three rides to cater for different categories of rider.

The 145 km original ride over the closed roads behind the Otway Ranges before descending down to lawn where you then travel back towards the town of Torquay along the Great Ocean Road.  the first part of the ride is through the farmland of of undulations and then turning South toward the coast is an amazing Descent down to lawn which is in Gumtree Timboon Woodlands and then the beautiful picturesque Road that is the Great Ocean Road with the sea to your right-hand side.

The 204 km event continues through to towards Towards Apollo Bay entering the Great Ocean Road at Stevens Creek The Climb before there is from Forest up through to around the over the hill with a great descent it can be slippery in places the Great Ocean Road beautiful to ride along with some inspiring undulations as you go sweep in and out of the bays and then climbing out along the cliff faces to sweep around the headland into the next Bay where you descend into the bay and continue and repeat all the way through Lorne and then Aireys Inlet before heading through to Torquay.  This is a true ride of Endurance

The 60 km course is a quick Traverse up to Moriac before turning off heading towards the coast, And returning to Torquay.

The field is limited to 3500 riders so register early is important.
