CTK Cairns 2 Karumba Bike Ride is a true outback adventure

CTK or the Cairns 2 Karumba Bike Ride is a challenging 7 day cycling adventure across North Queensland from Cairns to Karumba.

This annual ride has been running for over 20 years now, with 250+ riders, volunteers and support crew travelling together through the unique and historic outback towns of the iconic Savannah Way, in Far North Queensland.

This charity ride raises money to help bush children with a different beneficiary chosen each year.

Over  7 days you’ll be riding 780km, with either the Road Ride or the Dirt Ride. You’ll be riding from Cairns – Atherton – Mount Garnet – Mount Surprise – Georgetown – Croydon – Normanton – Karumba.

With the 7 day Road Ride, you’ll be riding between 78 to 150km each day.

The 7 Day Dirt Ride is suitable for experienced mountain bike riders with high quality, well-serviced bikes, and will challenge the hardiest of riders with long, corrugated and sometimes sandy and dusty terrain. You won’t be riding by dirt the whole way, but the organisers do their best to maximise dirt time. This is a popular ride and you will need to complete an Expression of Interest Form (first in, first served allocation of positions).

This looks like a fantastic event and is one to definitely add to your Bucket List.

    1. Hello Sharmon. I was just reading about the Croc trophy and read of Greg’s passing.
So sorry. Sandra and I have thought of you from time to time but of course our lives changed direction. We now live on the Gold Coast in our retirement, near our son Adam and with Brooke and 2 grandchildren in Sydney where we lived for a few years till the lure of Qld got us. Do hope you are well and remember us. Kindest wishes. Geoff ( Wilson)
