Best MTB events in Australia (it’s not all about racing)

MTB or mountain biking is a growing sport in Australia.

More and more mountain bike trails are opening up throughout Australia, which means more organised MTB events for the weekend enthusiast.

You’ll find a mix of single and multi-day MTB events in the calendar, including XC (cross country), trail, all mountain (Enduro) and Downhill (DH). You’ll find events on singletrack, back-country roads, wider bike park trails, fire roads, and some advanced trails that are designed with jumps, berms, and drop-offs to add excitement to the trail.

In Australia, many of the MTB events are based on racing, but you’ll find some in this list that aren’t races.

So if you’re not at the elite level, then you may as well enjoy the scenery! Plus why not take advantage of the facilities of the ride and the challenges that the trail provides.

You’ll find mountain bike events held in New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland, Tasmania, and the Australian Capital Territory. Some of the longer ones will travel through two or more States. So you are sure to find an event nearby inside the calendar.

And please do contact me if there are any MTB events that are good for recreational riders!
